why thanks Tricare…

Let me preface this by saying, I am very thankful for our insurance. While it might be a total PITA to deal with sometimes, I cannot imagine not having it and having the deal with the catastrophic health events in my life. I’m not sure I even want to know what my medical costs have totalled thus far, but I know it is probably pushing 6-7-800k by now and we would be in financial ruin.

But really Tricare, really?

I discovered this other day when I was researching whether to stay prime or go standard.

Tricare is going to lump bone marrow transplants, one of the very, VERY few possible cures for my form of cancer in with sex changes and smoking cessation? Vasectomy reversals and electrolysis?

Seriously. Thanks for the ray of sunshine. The hope of a cure. For me.

Please don’t let them catch wind of the advances in stem cell transplants and the cure rate. There will go that chance too.

**And yes, I know that bone marrow transplants and stem cell transplants are theoretically the same thing. It is just still a downer to see a procedure you’ve been told for year you will eventually need on the exclusion list of the insurance you *should* have for life.**

Thoughts?
