miscellaneous Monday (on a Tuesday)

Well, I had every intention of getting this posted last night, that was until my back decided to start spasming for over 12 hours. Needless to say, I didn’t go to work today and couldn’t sit here for more than 5 minutes without wanting to cry. It is MUCH better now, thank you.

  • So, I had my official weigh in yesterday and it wasn’t much of a loss, but it does take me officially down to 64 pounds lost…woohoo! I am also now in a size 12 (haven’t seen that in over 10 years) down from a 20! I’ve also lost 4 inches in my band size and 2 cups in my bras…I’ll spare the guys that read and not post specifics. :) Honestly though, I have a tendency of focusing on the *stats*, but I feel SO much better. I feel better about myself and I feel healthier. This journey has not been easy but it is the best thing I have ever done for myself.
  • Yesterday, Bryan and I met at the gym and I did my longest run yet (and kicked Bryan’s butt…LOL). Previously, I had ran for 45 minutes straight and yesterday I almost hit 50 and at a higher speed (I am working on increasing my speed right now). I am trying to work up to 4.4 miles straight by Memorial Day for our annual Gate to Gate run, which I don’t think will be a problem (4 months to add 1 mile). I wanted to go run again today (a short run) but alas with my back acting up, I couldn’t and now I won’t get back in the gym till Thursday….blah. Who would have ever though, me a runner…and one who enjoys it?! This is coming from the person that as a kid would forge notes to get me out of PE and the only kid in my family that ever got a *B* in PE…LOL!
  • I am so excited, if everything goes as planned, Bryan and I have a getaway weekend starting on Friday. My mom is coming up on Thursday to stay the weekend and keep Jacey. We booked 2 nights in a hotel out in Sandestin and have plans to go to Fired Up! or the Paint’n Place (paint your own pottery), go go-kart racing, Melting Pot and just enjoy each other. Bryan and I haven’t been away for leisure since July 2007 (I don’t count our trip to Birmingham last April, because that was for medical reasons). I love Jacey dearly, but it is nice to be able to just be a couple once in a while.

  1. Enjoy your weekend away…you’re right it is important to have couple time. Our kids don’t live at home forever, and it is important that we practice at being “just us”.

Thoughts?
